MEET IAN VAN ROOYEN
From accounting
to the CFO's seat.
Ian van Rooyen graduated with a BCom in Financial Accounting from the University of the North West in 1998 before completing his articles with Ernst & Young.
His career has taken him through management accounting with London Underground, financial management at BetterBond, more than 10 years running his own accounting practice in Parys, and most recently the role of Chief Financial Officer within a corporate business in Isando.
That breadth of experience means Ian understands both how financial information is prepared and how it is used inside a business — to manage cash, control costs, assess performance and support decisions.
After leaving corporate employment, Ian took over TAXSHOP POTCHEFSTROOM in September 2026, returning to a more personal practice environment where he can work directly with business owners.
A SAIPA member since 2009, Ian is also completing his CIBA accreditation.
